The Last Schoolbell

The protagonists are about to graduate from a provincial high school. It's 1988 and they have no idea that they're living during the last moments of a communist regime they've been struggling against in their own way. They are putting together a theater performance with the aid of a young female teacher. It's full of political sketches and songs and, despite all obstacles, wins at a festival in Gdansk. But the joy of their first success is overshadowed by the suicide of one of the group, the son of a Party official. (Zlín Film Festival)
