The magical Mexican desert of Wirikuta, famous for a hallucinogenic cactus that is used by the Indians for their rituals, engulfs biologist Gustavo and helps him to live through an personal loss. The film doesn't offer an unambiguous guideline on a stylistic level for the viewer to distinguish between hallucinogenic visions and objective reality. It freely combines the symbolic world innate to Indian beliefs with a deep physical experience in the parched desert. Solitude and space with an open horizon present a remarkably photogenic yet rough place, which is accentuated by the performance of Brontis Jodorowsky. (Febiofest)
