English Taking on this style of animation for a film that lasts over two hours and hoping that the creators captivate the viewer and hold their attention was certainly a big task. But they succeeded. This is the essence of traditional Japan in its magical form. A beautiful story about a princess who is different from the others. Actually, she is different from everyone. Beautiful, moving. ()

English This film shows what classic Japanese stories look like. It's not so much about what happens, but how it happens and where it happens. So if you're a person who likes modern storytelling, this is not a story that can hold your interest. But if you like classic Japan, this is it – the colors, the characters, the narrative style, the music. The charm of the story is reinforced by the beautiful pastel colors and "ordinary animation", which has been around in Japan since ancient times. And we are lucky enough to have the story published in book form – "Taketori monogatari". ()

English This movie has a beautiful, pleasant narrative with very nice and interesting animation, although yes, it is a bit too drawn out, so the story is not as intense as it would have been if it were thirty minutes shorter. However, it is still a very interesting and well-produced piece of work that deserves four stars, in my view. ()
