English I had kept the original Disney Cinderella "in the closet" for quite a long time and after watching it, I have to say that I was not that impressed. The animated Cinderella definitely appealed to me less than the live-action remake by Kennet Branagh or the legendary Czech version by Václav Vorlíček. I was surprised by the complete neglect of the prince, who has only a few lines and one major scene in this classic adaptation. The animals were cute, although I found them a bit annoying at the end (the mice), but they formed a bright counterpoint to the demonic Lady Tremaine, her silly daughters and the dastardly Lucifer. I think the scene with the Fairy Godmother and her chaotic spells amused me the most. P.S. It may sound strange, but it was only with this version that I realized that the iconic glass slipper was supposed to disappear together with the other enchanted items after midnight (right?!). ()

English An enjoyable spectacle in every respect, with animation that still manages to charm, and a simple story spiced with harmless humor and chases between mice and Lucifer the cat, which were clearly inspired by Tom and Jerry. I was surprised by the slightly erotic scene of dressing up in the morning, where we see Cinderella from the back and "only" from the shoulder blades up, but she is topless and carefree while singing. Probably to give the dads something to enjoy at the cinema too. ()

English The 12th Disney Feature Film Despite all the overblown clichés and the emerging return to the Biedermeier silhouette, this is still a valid and charming Disney film. It’s a combination of drama, comedy, slapstick, and romance. It’s also pleasantly touching, and touchingly fabulous. There are no extra updates, although comparisons with Fleischer's Cinderella are also obvious and there are a few nice catchphrases from the outside, especially before the anticipation of the courtship. It's simply good. ()

English The princess films are simply mastered by Disney studio and they prove it with their newer pieces as well. "Cinderella" is simply a classic, such a standard American adaptation that focuses more on magic than our Czech Cinderella. There are great moments and great songs here, but I think this film can no longer surprise anyone with its concept. It's a shame that a person - at least I - couldn't see it in theaters when it was released. ()
