The Zookeeper's Wife

The Zookeeper’s Wife is inspired by true events, and based on the international best-selling novel of the same name. Both the book and the film are drawn from the unpublished diary of Antonina Żabińska (Jessica Chastain), which recounts the true story of how she and her husband, Jan Żabiński (Johan Heldenbergh), saved the lives of 300 Jews who had been imprisoned in the Warsaw Ghetto following the German invasion of Poland in September 1939.
