When they're turned down for a bank loan, low-level career criminals (Sturgess and Worthington) embark upon one of the most audacious and infamous crimes in recent history, the kidnapping of Freddy Heineken (Hopkins), heir to the brewing empire and one of the wealthiest men in the Netherlands.
