Of all the film adaptations of Louis Weinert-Wilton's novels, The Secret of the Black Widow appeals to me the least. In this case, the ravages of time have worked in a rather visible way. The action scenes feel comical and artificial, the crime plot is quite weak, and the comedy scenes (especially with the character of Fish) were more awkward than funny. On the other hand, I was intrigued by the scene with the Black Widow song, which fit the story nicely. Of the cast, Klaus Kinski appealed to me the most, the rest were somewhat uninteresting. ()
