Now, the larger-than-life story of The New Testament gets a larger-than life treatment in the stand-alone feature SON OF GOD. Told with the scope and scale of an action epic, the film features powerful performances, exotic locales, dazzling visual effects and a rich orchestral score from OscarĀ®-winner Hans Zimmer. Portuguese actor Diogo Morgado portrays Jesus as the film spans from his humble birth through his teachings, crucifixion and ultimate resurrection. It marks the first motion picture about Jesus' life since Passion of the Christ, released ten years ago. (official distributor synopsis)

English Simply a film about Jesus. It is a retelling of the New Testament with a hint of the Old Testament in the introduction. "Son of God" is boring, it is dogmatic, not at all controversial, it is pathetic and empty. This is a film for those who do not know what is written in the Bible, but are too lazy to actually read it. They prefer to watch this because it is a somewhat digestible version of what happened to Jesus. Without emotions, of course, but at least there is some informational foundation here. ()
