Nokia Yesterday and Today

The film portrays the industry and commerce of Nokia (a town near Tampere), and is Erik Blomberg's first direction for Kansan Elokuva. His camera creates charming pictures of Nokia's past and present. There was plenty of industry in the town in the 1950s, but also culture for the mind, and body. At the end, the workers leave the factory à la Lumière. Ture Junttu, an actor born in Nokia, narrates. (Tampere Film Festival)
