Sheep breeding in Eastern Anatolia is just as traditional as the spectacular celebration of the circumcision of each boy. Little Mert is about to be circumcised and so his father has the obligation to throw a feast for the family and the neighbours. That wouldn't be so bad if Mert's father wasn't as poor as a church mouse and the family's only possession wasn't sheep, which he doesn't intend to butcher just for the party. Mert's mischievous sister exploits the situation and starts to frighten the boy that if the father refuses to sacrifice a lamb for the celebration, he will have to sacrifice his own son. (Febiofest)
