"I told them 'be careful..." recalls groundskeeper Ruber (Tony Todd) as detectives approach the eerie Jericho Manor following a night of screams and a dawn of silence. When a team of ghost hunters agree to be locked inside the derelict building, they quickly realise that slaughtered spirits do not stalk the hallways alone. As the night sky darkens, a vicious murderer (Claudio Pacifico) roams the deserted Manor hunting human flesh. It becomes a race against time for the ghost hunters to uncover the secret of the Manor and, using only found footage from abandoned cameras, for detectives to identify the murderer before it is too late for all... English "Dead of the Nite" is simply another found footage film that doesn't stand out in any way, following the same path as many other films of this kind. This just can't be anymore. Horror directors will still play on the fact that this is a subgenre that makes sense, because it almost costs nothing to make, and that includes the effort it takes to come up with a story. The story can be managed on the fly, essentially. Similarly, the acting usually looks like improvisation. ()
