Based on Roberto Saviano's bestseller, GOMORRAH takes the viewers to the dark and gritty streets of Naples, the inner sanctum of organized crime, the Camorra. When Pietro Savastano, one of Naples' biggest and most feared Camorra bosses, is captured and sent to jail, his right-hand man, 30-year-old Ciro Di Marzio sees an opportunity to finally become the new leader. But his time has not yet come; while in jail, Pietro's wife Imma initially takes over, while Pietro's heir apparent, son Genny learns the ropes in Honduras. Meanwhile, a rival clan led by Salvatore Conte plots to destroy the Savastanos once and for all. The war to control "The System" has just started, in a territory that keeps fighting not to surrender to crime and lawlessness. (official distributor synopsis)

Blutregen (2019) (S04E01)

English The first episode of the fourth season took me by surprise with its explosive start. I was expecting a slower pace, similar to the third season's pattern. However, the creators opted to hit the ground running, delivering a punchy mix of atmosphere, tension, action, and even some political shifts right from the get-go. ()

Giftiges Land (2019) (S04E02)

English The episode seemed calm, yet it unfolded with an incredibly intriguing plotline. Surprisingly, I enjoyed it even more than the previous one, despite it revolving around a children's party — a theme I typically find irksome. The show offered a different take on it, though. ()

Die Kinder von Secondigliano (2019) (S04E03)

English The episode wasn't terrible, but as the credits rolled, I couldn't shake the feeling that nothing much happened. While the creators made an effort to delve deeper into Dona Patrizia's character, I didn't glean anything particularly novel, and the narrative seemed to stall without much progression. ()

Die Farbe des Goldes (2019) (S04E04)

English I had doubts about the London episode, given my previous experiences with stories outside of Naples not particularly resonating with me (with a few exceptions). However, it turned out that these worries were completely unfounded. I thoroughly enjoyed this masonry episode, where the narrative centered mainly around bricks. ()

Überall Schlangen (2019) (S04E05)

English Once again, Dona Patrizia took the spotlight in the fourth season, but this time, she didn't quite earn a five-star rating from me. It's not that I found myself disengaged while watching; there was plenty happening. It's just that her romantic entanglements didn't strike a chord with me. Nonetheless, another intriguing twist was set up for the ongoing storyline... ()

Die schlechteste Mutter der Welt (2019) (S04E06)

English Another great episode that provided yet another gripping glimpse into the shadowy Neapolitan underworld, complete with all its intrigues and complexities. I'm always eager for new twists and turns. ()

Verlorene Brüder (2019) (S04E07)

English I found myself torn between four or five stars. While the episode was certainly eventful, the creators chose to focus solely on one subplot among many. However, I realized the significance of what I witnessed, likely influencing the main story. Plus, I also appreciate the amount of intrigue that this episode offered. 5*- ()

Das Hochzeitsgeschenk (2019) (S04E08)

English Gennaro's venture into the "clean" business is proving to be surprisingly captivating with each new episode. The atmosphere here was top-notch once again, delivering chilling moments that are exactly what I look for in a series like this. ()

Tote reden nicht (2019) (S04E09)

English This was another treat. The episode brimmed with a powerful atmosphere, delivering a hefty dose of tension. Action scenes were executed with finesse, but what truly stood out was the amount of intrigue and manipulation. With traps and counter-traps abound, it made for a truly gripping experience. ()

Sand und Zement (2019) (S04E10)

English Even with the tenth episode, I found little to fault. The creators set the stage for future events (though seasoned Gomorrah fans know that plans rarely unfold smoothly). Then, they seamlessly transitioned into the execution phase, and events unfolded with captivating intensity. ()

Zelle 6 (2019) (S04E11)

English It's clear that action isn't an indispensable element in this series. While there weren't many action-packed sequences, the atmosphere was spot-on once more. It was all about dirty tricks, changing allegiances, and spoiled plans, which kept me thoroughly engaged and entertained. ()

Träume sind nichts für uns (2019) (S04E12)

English True to form, the season finale was masterfully executed once again. While the previous episode may have lacked action, the twelfth episode made up for it with a generous dose of intrigue, manipulation, and "deals." There were plenty of heated moments, and the ending left me with a chilling impression. ()
