Standing Aside, Watching

Antigone, a young woman in her 30s, returns from Athens to her troubled hometown after many years, determined to keep a low profile. She meets friends from the old days. She takes a job as an English teacher. She even finds a boyfriend, Nikos, who is young, good-looking and naive. But as a surge of violence and discrimination sweeps the town, Antigone's search for an unassuming life turns out to be more complicated than she thought. Antigone's dilemma is an age-old and simple one: in her last chance to change her fate, will she act or will she stand aside, watching?
