Jess Franco co-writes and directs this German horror. When Linda Westinghouse (Ewa Strömberg) visits an exotic nightclub, she finds herself entranced by the sight of a beautiful young woman performing an erotic dance with an animated mannequin. Over the following days, she becomes increasingly troubled by the powerful pull she felt towards this young woman, and jumps at the chance to take a business trip to the island of Countess Nadine Carody (Soledad Miranda), hoping that it will keep her mind occupied. But as chance would have it, the Countess and the dancer are one and the same woman, and she has a whole store of vampiric delights ready and waiting for the innocent Linda. (Severin Films)

English There is very little eroticism and no horror at all in this alleged erotic horror movie. Well-known Euro-trasher Jesús Franco relies more on a stronger plot and characters this time rather than on gratuitous titillating scenes. The question is what qualifies as a stronger plot by his standards and whether any of his films can be attractive without those scenes. If so, it’s certainly not Vampyros Lesbos. That said, the two actresses in the lead roles are luscious. ()

English With Vampyros Lesbos, Jesús Franco simply showed that he has made a lot of movies, and enjoyed filming women's breasts, but didn't really give it any genuinely interesting form. It turned out to be a film that has a little bit of nudity, but worst of all, there is nothing horror-like to call it a horror. In this example, Jesús Franco certainly didn't demonstrate any great abilities, and it's hard to even talk about its cult status. ()
