My Love, My Bride

I had high hopes for this movie, so I won't hide my slight disappointment. After seeing the trailers, I was expecting a bit more comedy, and more romance. Except this isn't about a newly in love couple who just met and are having their most wonderful year. This story is about a couple who, after a few years, decide to seal their relationship and suddenly have to face the daily grind. And of course, understanding this love is much more difficult, complicated, and unfortunately less romantic. But the filmmakers have managed to express very nicely how difficult it is sometimes in a relationship. How two people who loved each other sweetly before can suddenly get on each other's nerves and how difficult it is to realize why you are in the relationship in the first place. This aspect is handled really well and you can see yourself in it. So even though I wasn't belly laughing, it was an enjoyable movie that I'll definitely come back to. I just hope Jeong-seok Jo doesn't annoy me so much next time. I'd hate to lose my taste for him. 3.5 stars. (20/03/2015)
