Bollersville is average. Because of this its inhabitants get to test every new product before it hits the market. They are proud to be average and do all they can to stay average! If that means putting the elderly into an old people's home to keep to the statistical average, so be it! But town's kids aren't keen on being human guinea pigs. So, using sleeping pills, they knock out the adults and start working on an adventurous plan to set a new world record. The result is total chaos! But when the grandparents escape from the old people's home, they convince the adults that not everything that looks broken is broken. The kids manage to fill a swimming pool with milkshake. The world record is official! In annoyance, the product testers leave the village. From now on the children and grandparents work together, thinking up new world records. (Zlín Film Festival)

English Fiddlesticks is a brilliant film for young children that takes their perspective and, at the same time, offers a narrative that can even enchant adults. The overall logic of the shenanigans and boisterousness takes a fresh approach to the central parable about a society that is engulfed in consumerism and is unable to care for the older generation.
