Mrs. Taggart, a venomous one-eyed matriarch who, despite her husband being long dead, demands her three grown sons gather for her 40th anniversary. Bette Davis was a great actress and she basically stole this film for herself, even though she still needed skillful sidekicks who threw her the lines. And she got them here. Entertaining, at times you feel like it really turns into something rougher, but still maintains the right level of slightly dangerous comedy.
