In order to complete her medical PhD thesis, Mia Medina and her team record the everyday life of Deborah Logan (Jill Larson, Shutter Island), an elderly Alzheimer s sufferer trapped in her secluded home by the woods. However as the study progresses, Deborah s activity becomes more and more abnormal. The video captured rapidly transforms into terrifying evidence of the hair-raising occurrences that start to plague Mia and the crew. When inexplicable events and increasingly deadly circumstances reach an intolerable point, panic ensues. With the ever more disturbing footage and Deborah taking a malevolent turn, it quickly becomes sinisterly apparent that a horrifying evil far worse than the debilitating disease has taken control of her. Unfortunately, just your average found-footage, but worth watching just for that scene with the human-snake head. Ew!

The movie has an overall interesting progression and is not entirely predictable, there are moments that are unexpected. However, I still have a feeling that I've seen it before. Yes, there are scary scenes, especially one really disgusting one that a person will remember, but I can't jump for joy because of it. Well, considering it's a found footage film, at least it reaches the average level of "The Taking of Deborah Logan".

In comparison to the Czech found-footage movie Ghoul, this one is far weaker. It’s nice that the camera isn’t shaking like a leaf on a windy day, but as far as the story goes, there was nothing engaging or remotely scary. I must admit that it’s better than the entire Paranormal Activity film series, but it’s still lacking in atmosphere. Anyway, I must say that the ending was absolutely shocking. It made it worth it to sit through the hour of run-of-the-mill boredom. I wonder how the creators thought of that and what was their inspiration. There was nothing scary about the movie and suddenly, there was a second of footage that can haunt my dreams even a week later.
