Eiji Tsuburaya and other masters are celebrated in the documentary Bringing Godzilla Down to Size: The Art of Japanese Special Effects and I have no reason to criticize it. When you then get the chance to see how one effects sequence is done, you'll just marvel at how simple it is, and you just need to figure it out. This is the beauty of classic effects, and I want more films like this all the time.
