A pair of ten-year-olds find an abandoned cop car in a field but when they take it for a joyride it seems like they could kill themselves at any moment. But things only get worse when the small town sheriff goes looking for his missing car. The kids find themselves in the centre of a deadly game of cat and mouse they don’t understand and the only way out is to go as fast as their cop car can take them. (Universal Pictures UK)

An original crossover of a boyish adventure seen through the eyes of children and a brutal adult thriller full of blood and corpses, Cop Car is an interestingly bizarre and thrilling indie minimalist film with an unpredictable storyline.

An unexpected genre mix. Boys’ adventure movie meets redneck psycho thriller. Bacon pretty minimalistic, but the boy duo is super. The action is a bit slow, and the ending is unexpectedly pessimistic. Very bold project, hats off.

I'm not completely crazy about this movie, but I still think it's a successful thriller, mainly thanks to two young boys who excellently handled their roles. The same goes for Kevin Bacon, who looks like a brilliant lunatic and also performs it well. The story is presented well enough not to be boring even at a slower pace.
