This makes excellent viewing because it looks so much like a Scandinavian crime series thanks to the setting in the dirty post-industrial north of the Czech Republic. It’s really watchable, which is a success in itself, but the characters and their dumbness, corruption and instant unhappiness haven’t yet convinced me that this is the series of the year. This has pleasantly surprised me and I never have any urge to switch it off.
