English SonGokussj said in this review on FilmBooster Girls Beyond the Wasteland is based on a dating sim/romance simulation game, and it really reeks of that, and so he is right about that. I also have seen a few anime series on the "let us make a game" theme (although I have not seen hentai yet, perhaps I should probably finish my education). The characters are again formulaic cookie-cutters, although fortunately not extremely irritating ones. The energetic friend of main character is probably the most interesting; however, she, unfortunately, does not get much screen time, which is a shame. The animation is poor; the soundtrack is not very good. Well, in the end, I lasted until about halfway through, which means it is not completely pointless, even though I have to admit that I quite often had to force myself to watch it and that I was extremely bored in places. Plus, I stopped enjoying it when the anime's creators pulled out the trope about a team member not getting along with another team member, getting pissed off and leaving, and the main male protagonist has to convince her and the others to come back. They use that particular trope twice in the first five episodes. Plus, the sixth episode looks like a classic swimsuit episode from the trailers, and I am not in the mood for these sorts of tropes at all lately. So dropped after episode five. 3/10. ()
