Having won the custody battle for her five-year-old daughter, Ikuko (Rio Kanno), she moves with her daughter into a new apartment. English Years ago, after a very interesting lecture, I thought to myself that I should watch more Japanese horror films. It's an interesting genre, but I didn't see more than ten films and I think that's enough for me. It’s not that I'm avoiding these films, but I simply don’t enjoy them. Although, in this case, it did have a really interesting point... Mother's victim. ()

English Dark Water demonstrates that Japanese horror movies do not have to be terrifying in the sense of just ghosts and jump scares. It shows that Japanese horror movies can have a great atmosphere that greatly impacts the viewer. The American remake, for example, did not do this so well. Even the way they work with the water is very good in this version. In addition, even if you do not leave the screening of the movie terrified, you will leave it having been moved. ()
