Cuky Luky Film tells the story of a crazy friendship that changes the main characters forever. This zany, absurd comedy is a send-up of self-appointed "VIPs" and shopaholics, based on the hit TV sketches of the well-known comedienne duo of Petra Polnišová and Zuzana Šebová. Having taken Slovaks' TV screens by storm, they set their sights on the silver screen with this uproarious, drama-filled romp. Cuky (Petra Polnišová) is an unknown videoblogger with a thirst for fame; Luky (Zuzana Šebová), a celebrity basking in the glory of her fame, has it all. Except for one thing – love. To win the man of her dreams, Luky has to transform an ordinary nobody into a beauty queen. But what if that nobody happens to be none other than Cuky, the guru of gaffes? With improvisational elements and absurd humour, this unbridled parody was co-created by accomplished Czech director Karel Janák (Snowboarders, 2004; Rafters, 2006). (Art Film Fest)

English Somewhere I wrote that American comedy is in the gutter and doesn't produce anything decent, but Czech and Slovak ones aren't much better. In my opinion, "Cuky Luky Film" is proof of this claim, because even though there are a few scenes that are funny, ultimately it's a celebration of awkwardness that I don't appreciate. ()
