Bound by Heart

A retired bio-researcher Arno tries to find an alternative method for curing his seriously ill wife Helmi who is at the mercy of a wheelchair. Their distanced doctor-son Pyry wants to, however, put Helmi into a hospital to decent conditions - and beyond the reach of Arno's experiments. Unwilling to let go of his wife, Arno takes a risk and combines his own depletable cardiac medicine with green plant extract. When his newly-developed drug helps a withered plant to blossom Arno believes to have found a way to save his wife's life. Helmi, however, requires Pyry's agreement to the alternative drug experimentation. The situation escalates when Helmi suffers a serious attack and Arno is compelled to try his experimental treatment - against Pyry's will. This triggers an unexpected chain of events where Arno, Helmi and Pyry are cast to a race between life, death and withering family relations. (official distributor synopsis)
