English Once again, this movie is a beautiful piece of evidence of how much emphasis on being expressive the whole Monogatari series has. Incredibly, the visuals combine 2D, 3D, and actual footage into something that looks really awful at times and just proves that the combination of 3D and traditional illustrations can look weird and unnatural. However, it is awe-inspiring and beautiful at times, with shots that almost take your breath away (the tree, the escalators, etc.). On top of that, the soundtrack is excellent, and this time, it feels really epic in places - really cinematic - and it adds to the atmosphere in a significant way. As far as the narrative is concerned, it has a pretty good opening introducing primarily familiar characters, so nothing was unexpected or captivated me. Perhaps Hanekawa seemed a lot more cute and playful than I was used to, which certainly did not hurt. So once again, this movie is something very original in terms of audiovisual aspects, even though it was only slightly above average in terms of plot. 7/10. ()
