English Well, this ended where we all knew we would get to. Unfortunately, I cannot say that I was as blown away by the last installment as I was by the previous movie. It is the longest movie in this trilogy, it is the most overwrought in places, and I was reminded once again that nothing should be extremely overdone. If it had been shorter and punchier, I would have been much happier, and so at times, it just felt like an attempt to stretch it as far and fill it with whatever was possible. The screenwriters just wanted us to wallow in the main male protagonist’s depression and search for himself. They wanted us to enjoy a very long erotic sex scene, and they wanted to give us the most epic fight scene in the entire franchise with the most heads sailing through the air. We were also supposed to get an emotional conclusion. Unfortunately, in most cases, it did not work for me. I guess that was not what the screenwriters probably intended. I found the main male protagonist’s depression and search for himself unnecessarily long; the erotic sex scene also seemed unnecessarily drawn out and somehow did not fit at all. In addition, the final fight scene did not leave me with the impression I had watched a cool spectacle, but rather I had to laugh and shake my head at it. The dialogues were not pointless, even though they were unnecessarily long at times. This means that even if they had content, it could have been said much more concisely, in a punchier way, and with a much more dramatic tone. What about the emotional finale? I did not find it very moving. In other words, it is overstretched and even more overdone, which should not matter with a franchise this original and probably should be its highlight. However, the lines between what is cool and what is just too much were somehow blurred, and I found myself on the wrong side of that at times (especially with the fight scene). I am not upset, and it does not deserve less than three stars because of the audiovisual aspect; it also served its purpose, and it is still an original movie. So I am going to throw in one more star, albeit a damn weak one. 6.6/10. ()
