Most people know Jim Brown as the former star fullback for the Cleveland Browns. From 1957 to 1965, he broke records as an MVP, leading the team to a championship win in 1964. In 1971 he was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame. There are also those who may know him from his acting career, where he landed roles alongside Burt Reynolds, Raquel Welch, and Keenan Ivory Wayans—who was his co-star in the parody, "I'm Gonna Git You Sucka." Some may even recognize the name from his publicized troubles with the law. But beyond all that, Brown is also a dedicated activist against gang violence. His passion for this, and the success he's found in battling it, may leave a legacy far more substantial than any of his many accomplishments in sports and entertainment. Through his Amer-I-Can program, Brown tackles the issue from the frontlines in Los Angeles and Cleveland.
