English Excellent actors mired in lifeless directing. The best way to remedy this film’s clumsiness would have been to not make it at all. There are plenty of powerful moments and urgency in the theme that the film conveys, but the way these are presented are sleep-inducing and embarrassing. On the one hand, it relies on the dimension of reality and, on the other hand, it undermines that with surrealistic elements, which are nice and poetic, but they throw sand in the narrative gears. And the film’s utter faux pas is that the story of the separated central couple trails off into a distatefully purposeful, propagandistic message as the minutes pass. ()
