Inspired by true events, sisters Bree and Jonna get trapped beneath the fiberglass cover of an Olympic sized public pool after it closes for the holiday weekend. They find themselves at the mercy of the night janitor, Clara, who sees the trapped sisters as an opportunity to solve a few problems of her own. The American film 12 Feet Deep was quite a pleasant surprise for me. It got what it could out of a simple idea and audiences can enjoy a spectacle that definitely doesn’t offend. The claustrophobic setting is used to great effect here, while the two female leads playing the trapped women are the best part of the film. You really find yourself believing that it's not easy for them down there and that death is just around the corner. The ideas in the film aren't original or great, but they fit perfectly within the chosen plot.
