English I watched the Mary Stuart episode. It's not a hit, it's a classic docudrama, and the talking heads are often just men of letters and various fabulators. The whole thing is told as a story with emotion, with an emphasis on fatal mistakes (the views on relationships are quite contemporary), and the various steps that influenced this or that. The anonymous actors walk around in various costumes to illustrate the key points that the selected talking heads are currently musing about. It’s a bit of a tabloid, a bit of a first step to getting a feel for someone you only have a basic understanding of. It is of course necessary to continue exploring and not to rest on our laurels. These documentaries can at most substitute for primary school, and if you want high school level, you go elsewhere. ()
