Ex-painter and World War 1 veteran Max Rothman owns the most successful art gallery in Munich. After an opening party for his latest show, Max meets Adolf Hitler, a fellow war veteran and aspiring artist. Hitler is a confused, lonely young man, and Max takes him under his wing and encourages him to paint. But Hitler fails to deal with his personal demons through his art and transfers his creative talents to politics, where at last he finds an outlet for his raw beliefs. Abandoning Max, Hitler begins his career, setting in motion what will be the most terrible period of 20th Century history. (Pathé Distribution UK)
