El arribo de Conrado Sierra

In 1940s Torres Mochas (Torreón, Mexico), widowed Doña Josefina and her five spinster daughters await a man, coming to marry the youngest of them. The local townspeople, excited at the prospect of one of “Virgin Josefitas” finally marrying, prepare massive celebrations. When the mysterious suitro finally arrives, however, Doña Josefina refuses to allow the wedding to take place. Young Ninfa will have to face not just her mother’s prejudices but those of a bigoted society. (Guadalajara International Film Festival)
