Riverdale gives a subversive take on small-town life. Things aren't always what you expect in Riverdale. This high-school clique seems quite normal. Yet they all have their secrets, relationships are the main theme of their lives, and their town is controlled by two key families. Will those who write the local newspaper or those who make maple syrup prevail? As absurd as it sounds, that's exactly what this is. The first season of Riverdale is very watchable. The kids are always right, their parents are the ones who make the mistakes and the target group is perfectly happy. The adult decisions are not made by daddy "Dylan" (Luke Perry), but by his son Archie. Ronnie's mother is the one who is making mistakes, but Ronnie herself is the one who has to keep the family together, even though her father is in jail. And Betty? Only thanks to her will the air around her sister's affair be cleared, Montague and Capulet style. I'm torn, but I kinda wish I could have graduated high school with this group of kids ;)
