Two Nights of Maria

Péchy Mária is a painter living in poverty. Taken notice of by Forgács Péter, a rich landowner, member of a company in the midst of having fun and drinking, she is given the chance of selling him a painting. Forgács falls in love with her. What he offers is wealth and, while he is at work putting his estate in the country back into shape, Mária, emotionally strengthened, also gets down to hard work. Mária wants to portrait Chatell Iván as Mefisto, and the model tries hard to seduce the woman, already contracted by Péter. On her tour of Europe, Vass Gábor, Iván's agent keeps an eye on Mária.
