Dárday Ottó, a rich man, is cross with his relatives who, he knows, are greedy to inherit his fortune. He marries Julcsa, his servant. After his death, it is revealed, in accordance with his will, that he bequeathed all his fortune to his wife. The next relative, Dárday István rents a room at Kovács's and Vera is his fiancée. He hopes to get part of the fortune. Meanwhile, the widow is courted by Grobusek, an old admirer. When the will is eventually made public, István asks Julcsa to give him a job at least. Julcsa starts spending her money lavishly, only to become the victim of a crook. István intervenes, but the man can narrowly escape. Finally, he is caught by Grobusek. Julcsa recognises, that the great wealth would only hurt her, and she lets it to István. (official distributor synopsis)
