Spira Mirabilis

Like a visual symphony, this documentary tells four "stories of immortality", filmed in four different places around the world. The elements and the perception of them blur in images and sounds. The purpose is to convey the grandeur of man's aspirations and actions, the directors' "humanistic" vision that places man at the centre with his admirable attempts to come to terms with death. The "miraculous spiral", the symbol of perfection and infinity, thus defined by mathematician Jackob Bernoulli, derives from a logarithm such that it continuously wraps around its center point without ever reaching it.
