English Home Alone + Paddington + Little Nicholas = Alone in the garden with a cute, naughty rabbit. Potter must be spinning in her grave, but what the hell, when the jokes and playfulness make it as much fun for the adult companions as for the kids; especially those with a little rabbit soul. ()

English The idea of uniting the cartoon world of the rabbits with real world took some getting used to on my part. But Domhnall Gleeson and Rose Byrne are a great couple and the whole thing with the rabbits worked really well in the end. It’s a proper family movie – the label might say USA, but it actually takes place in the English countryside, which helps turn the movie into a very fun experience. ()

English A very pleasant family fairy tale about the struggle between nature and man. You can say that it is an animal variation of Home Alone. The very detailed and great CGI of all the animals involved stands out, and the humour and surprisingly intelligent dialogues are a delight. It's very nice to watch, it's modern, it has a swing and the film will please both children and adults, that's how it should be. The badger killed it! 75% ()

English Peter Rabbit has a thing for the vegetables from Mr McGregor's garden, and now his nephew arrives and the carrot war is in full swing. And there will be no playing by the rules! Peter Rabbit is an easygoing family film that relies on a likeable hero, solid action and humour. They’ve also managed to sneak a lot of unexpectedly humorous and clever situations into the hackneyed and predictable story, which subvert the clichés associated with family films in an entertaining way and ensure that the adult companions have a good time alongside the kids. English Peter Rabbit is an extremely pleasant and relaxing film with extremely likeable animal heroes, a lively soundtrack and more than one humorous scene. The clashes between Thomas and the animals evoked Gore Verbinski's Mousehunt for me at times. I liked that the story was interspersed with narrator commentary and purely cartoon sequences that referenced Beatrix Potter's original drawings. Even though this is essentially a film with a simple plot where you mostly know how it will end, I was still intrigued and entertained. Sometimes simplicity is enough to satisfy, and that is the purest beauty. ()
