Plots(1)

Two fathers (Eddie Murphy and Jeff Garlin) join the ranks of the unemployed. They are forced to take their sons out of the exclusive Chapman Academy and become stay-at-home fathers. With no job possibilities on the horizon, the two dads decide to open their own day care facility, which boasts some fairly unconventional methods of tending the kids. As their day care starts to catch on, it launches them into a competition with Chapman Academy's tough-as-nails director (Anjelica Huston) for the hearts and minds of the children. (Showtime)

English An outrageously embarrassing affair, which I would definitely not let a kid watch because of the huge dose of stupid, unfunny toilet humour. Murphy is only average, but that's the only plus the film offers, despite Huston's involvement. ()

English We still have Daddy day Care at home on the original VHS, and I remember that even back then this film made a rather mediocre impression on me. The premise isn't downright bad, but the execution is a bit dull, and not even the solid performances from Eddie Murphy, Steve Zahn and Anjelica Huston can save it. Jeff Garlin struck me then, as he does now, as a very bad actor-comedian. The kids are mostly annoying, and the lesson about the importance of family is a nice one, but in this case quite cheaply served. Better two stars! ()
