John Huston and his contemplation of death at a time when he himself was preparing for eternity. No, this film certainly did not harm him, he had already stood on that pedestal long ago. However, it is an interesting farewell, definitely not a bad film, but one that captivates literature lovers rather than film enthusiasts. It is wonderfully stylized, but it simply did not impress me, nor did it say much to me.
