Plots(1)

They are clean, well taken care of, cultivated and clear. Not a description most people would associate with homeless people. But they exist. They are present unseen throughout our society: homeless women. It was a Wonderful Life tells the stories of six different derelict women about their struggle for survival. Many of them found themselves in financially grim situations after a divorce, a dismissal, or a long-lasting illness. Only a few of them are on social security or receive another form of assistance. Sometimes they take some job or other in order to get through the day. These women avoid public shelters, from fear of being raped or robbed. They prefer to sleep in their car or find temporary lodging with friends. (International Documentary Film Festival Amsterdam)
