English Onihei Hankacho is a historical anime series that is not over the top in any way and works quite well thanks to the charisma of the main protagonist and the quite interesting cases. I could criticize and detail some of its shortcomings, such as the animation of the sword fights that looks quite crappy. I could even mention that some scenes just do not work as they should, in my opinion (for example, it deals with rape and does not provoke any strong feelings - I did not feel any outrage or sympathy.). However, it still does not change the fact that I liked it and found it a very respectable and interesting affair. 7.5/10. ()
