Fate/Grand Order: First Order

I am by no means any kind of expert on the whole Fate/ universe, so for me, this new and quite interesting take on the world of magic called Fate/ was quite positive, as it was a lot less rubbish than I had originally expected! I do know Fate/stay night and all the anime adaptations of that adult game, and I also know Fate/zero in its anime form. Although I do not know much about the plot, I know there is a sequel to the original Fate/stay series called Fate/hollow ataraxia. I also know there is something called Fate/kaleid liner Prisma Illya, and someday when I run out of other anime series with a Lolita-girl-theme, I might even watch that. I knew absolutely nothing about Fate/Grand Order until yesterday, just like I knew nothing about the upcoming Fate/apocrypha anime series. So what I liked about F/GO was the beginning and the mysterious storyline concerning the world ending in 2017. I liked Mash because I found that girl somewhat endearing. I also liked the fact that some old friends showed up and the way the white-haired cocky "star" ended up. In addition, I also enjoyed the new versions of the Caster servants plus the animation. Oh, and some things were missing, like the main male protagonist being better and more fleshed out and a slightly better and less obvious narrative. I also missed the fact that I did not hear the line, "I am the bone of my sword..." or at least some chanting in German. I missed Saber because Artoria Pendragon is never enough, and she is one of my two favorite anime characters. In the end, I have reached a typical contradictory average, for which I am awarding 6/10 out of nostalgia. (03/01/2017)
