Plots(1)

Ted Wallace, lapsed poet and disgraced theatre critic, is summoned to his friends Lord and Lady Logan's Norfolk manor to investigate a series of unexplained miracle healings. Ted tracks down the perpetrator of the phenomena, his fifteen-year-old godson David Logan, whose parents believe he has healing hands. Unaware of David's disturbingly unorthodox methods, the Logans are now set on sharing their son's "gift" with the world. With a poet's passion for the truth, Ted hurries to debunk the miracles – and save a young man from a lifetime of embarrassment. (Network)

English An unbelievably nice and crazy comedy with a sarcastic main hero who loves to curse and swear as a sailor in the worst dirty port pub. If I watch it again, I would probably like it even more as it would be easier to get through all that sarcasm and actually understand the story. ()

English Stephen Fry is a witty actor and commentator on current affairs, but I haven't read his book. But if it's presented in a similar style, I can't imagine it being particularly funny. The film isn't funny; the humor isn't even particularly dry, often nonexistent. Sometimes the good signs end up just being average. ()
