Michele Soavi directs this '70s Italian horror. In Frankfurt, schoolteacher Miriam Kreisl (Kelly Leigh Curtis) is inducted into the Sect of the Faceless Ones, seduced by the charisma of its leader Moebius Kelly (Herbert Lom), and faces a series of terrifying ceremonies and ritualistic killings. After nearly running over the old man and innocently offering him a place to stay, Miriam has no idea what the satanic cult has lying in store for her. (Shameless Films)

English Very unsettling, really (the moment bugs start crawling into somebody’s body orifices, the gloves are off!), and atmospheric and disgusting at times, but as a whole, it looks terribly choppy, incoherent and unfocused. Disappointment. ()

English The "Sekta" suffers from the problem that Michele Soavi wanted to shoot a really great film, which will be truly terrifying and will refer to the atmosphere of classic Italian films in terms of their horror. However, it failed to follow up on Bavu, because the film simply does not work as a whole. It falls apart in the hands of the creators in many parts, which individually come out quite well, but together they are too shapeless. The film doesn't grab you, which is a shame, because there was definitely potential here. ()
