Over ten years before they co-starred in Infernal Affairs, Hong Kong superstars Andy Lau and Tony Leung Chiu Wai co-starred in the comedy Don't Fool Me, directed by Herman Yau (Master Q 2001). The two award-winning actors play old classmates who rediscover each other later in life. Andy is an unlucky triad who's never been able to rise up the ranks, and Tony is a successful insurance salesman who may have contracted a terminal disease. With both finding dissatisfaction in their lives, they agree to trade places. Andy will attempt to learn the insurance trade and attempt personal success, and Tony will live out the rest of his life on Hong Kong's mean streets. But new troubles and comic situations occur, including romantic entanglements for both. Andy takes up with his boss (Teresa Mo), and Tony meets Fennie (Fennie Yuen), a triad boss' charming daughter. Don't Fool Me is a light, funny comedy about two mismatched friends find new challenges and hopes in the unexpected journey of life. Co-starring Anthony Wong, who also appeared with Andy Lau and Tony Leung Chiu Wai ten years later in Infernal Affairs! (official distributor synopsis)
