The Nature of My Heart

The Nature of My Heart is a film about the passionate relationship between man and nature. The central story of the film narrates the journey of the filmmaker from his current hometown Helsinki to his childhood one, Savonlinna. The trip, which takes three hours by car, now takes 27 days. The film also introduces viewers to a range of characters, in whose lives nature and a passionate relationship with it plays an important part: a hunter, a zookeeper and a dumpster diver, for instance. They're all guided by an urge to return to nature, be a part of it or to experience companionship with its creatures. Some want to protect nature from man; some want to experience places where man has not been; others need to insulate their bodies from nature in order to come into contact with it.
