English Abominable abounds with beautiful visuals and is complemented by an appealing musical score. Unlike the recent animated films Missing Link and Smallfoot, this film features a non-speaking snowman and relies on charming cuteness rather than humour, which is not to say that Abominable doesn't have some funny scenes. I really liked the yetti's magic and all the violin-playing sequences. Next to the yetti, the funniest character was definitely the bouncy snake. Story-wise, the film offers one minor plot twist, but otherwise it's a straightforwardly told one-off with not that much to surprise. I was a bit bothered by some plot inconsistency and lapses in logic in a couple of scenes. All in all, it's a film that's nice to watch, but doesn't get under your skin that much. ()
