The late wife of Pálos Bálint, land-owner was a pianist. Their marriage was ruined by Gregory Iván, violinist, so he would not hear of his daughter, Éva going in for a music career, although she is also a talented pianist. On her 24th birthday he wants to force his daughter to marry one of the three suitors he chose for her. But upon the call of the artist's blood, Éva becomes a pianist despite her father's hatred for music. First she travels around the world with her mother's enticer, but she has her first genuine success with the young violinist, Borsody János. On his side she finds success as well as happiness.
