Separation fence or apartheid wall? Originally heralded as a “Fence for Life,” the Israeli West Bank Barrier separating Israel and Palestine has come to embody the failure of diplomacy and the death of normalcy in the Holy Land. In WALL, playwright David Hare visits Jerusalem, Ramallah and Nablus, accompanied by Israeli and Palestinian guides to examine the personal, social, political, and economic implications of this imposing edifice whose very existence contravenes international law.
